Dr. Hanig is a 1976 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and received his medical degree from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1980. He completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Parkland Memorial Hospital in 1984, serving as Chief Resident his last year. Since then he has been in private general pediatric practice in Dallas. His teaching position is Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Hanig is board certified in pediatrics and a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Pediatric Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He lives in Dallas with his wife, also a pediatrician. They have two sons in college. His interests outside of medicine include his family, cycling, backpacking and photography.
